Planning
Good writers ALWAYS plan first! Planning helps us to get all our ideas onto paper so we know exactly what we are talking about. This means we don’t end up going off track and talking about something boring. We only want to talk about the most important points, so we plan the important pieces first. *key tip: once you have planned and are onto writing, it is important to go back and check your plan after you finish each sentence! You can even tick the points you have talked about so you know you are only talking about what is on your plan.
What is an introduction? An introduction introduces the reader to what they are going to be reading. You only just touch on the main points you will talk about but don’t go into too much detail yet! Save that for your paragraphs! You will start with an interesting sentence to hook the reader into your writing. A sentence which will make the reader either agree or disagree with you. Then your introduction with just touch on the main arguments you have. This will help the reader decide if they want to continue reading your arguments or not.
What is a conclusion? A conclusion is a summary of what you have just written and a reminder to the reader of your most important ideas.
